why this volume was catalogued

the author was twenty-seven years old. he held no university degree. he belonged to no mystery school.
what the work assembled, across six years of research and forty-six cited traditions, was the correspondence the schools had kept separated for two thousand years: that the crucified-savior narrative, the virgin birth, the three-day resurrection, the baptism at thirty, the twelve disciples, the last supper were each in documented record at least a thousand years before christianity existed. osiris, attis, dionysus, mithras, horus, krishna · each one traced and cited.
the reception was not uncontested. three of the orders whose inner doctrine the work catalogued moved to block distribution before the plates were struck. hall's correspondence for the years 1926 and 1927 records written threats, a severed telephone line at the rowny premises, and one visitor turned away at the door. the files are intact.
the book was published regardless. the first printing went out by pre-publication subscription, hand-numbered, and was consumed on arrival. it has not been out of print in the ninety-eight years since.
this file is the archive's record of the work and of the physical object.
